I had high-functioning Asperger’s Syndrome. Between healing my gut, chelating mercury and arsenic with Andrew Cutler’s protocol, and now getting ammonia under control I’m not doing too bad now.. and now getting ammonia under control I’m not doing now too bad.} I don’t know what caused low stomach acid but mercury does very bad things to the digestive system. I’m still taking AKG to help with ammonia but going after the root of the problem with HCl seems to be a whole lot more effective. I am now convinced that the low stomach acid has caused an overgrowth of bacteria in my digestive system that is causing a lot of my problems.
I do everything by the written book, and this taste is still here. They are trying to give me Lansoprazole, but I am refusing to take it as it does nothing absolutely. I go to bed hungry, and wake up with acid in my mouth. How could this be?
I’ve been suffering with this for the past several years. Hey I know that I have low stomach acid. I have abdominal cramps as well due to less bacteria in gut which is again due to low stomach acid. My question is will my body recover to producing acid or is there a chance that my body will never produce acid again ?
Back it down a notch and monitor your response Then. Some people need one capsule, others need more as everyone is unique.
I’d suggest you check out Dr. Johnathon Wright’s Stomach Acid book. In the meantime, If your having acid reflux you can try some apple cider vingear to relieve it. And you should stop all foods that can trigger it, all grains mainly, starches, sugar and dairy. That’s so amazing Debbie, I couldn’t be happier for you. Congrats on taking control of your health, woohoo!
The pH of stomach acid (or gastric acid ) is in the range of 1.5 pH to 3.5 pH. It is made up primarily of hydrochloric acid, potassium, and sodium. The acidity is maintained by the proton pump H+/K+ ATPase. B12 is synthesised in our gut and it needs stomach acid to do so- which is why vitamin B is so closely linked to our digestion. If we take PPIs, antibiotics and ibuprofen they can all interfere with the level of stomach acid that exists in our guts.
It’s purpose is to down keep your pH levels. Other cells in your stomach produce bicarbonate to help buffer the acidity, as well as mucus to help protect your stomach lining from the aciditiy. Not burping within five minutes may be a sign of low stomach acid.
Go ahead and perform the baking soda test for 3 mornings in a row to get a better judgement. You can perform the HCL challenge test also, as this is more accurate. It does sound like you’re suffering from low stomach acid, so we’d suggest continuing to test it out. If you do find out you have low stomach acid, the prescription is simple pretty. In the short-term, you need to supplement your acid levels to allow the rest of the digestive process to work properly.
Those low levels also cause the diagnosis of “gastritis”-when the stomach becomes inflamed and irritated DUE to the low stomach acid causing food or supplements to sit too long, . irritation of the stomach lining thus.} Because most people don’t know about low stomach acid, or hypochlorhydria, . they may connect it to their chronic health condition never. Besides being the main cause of acid reflux and GERD, low stomach acid is also the primary cause of food sensitivities, IBS, colitis, SIBO, osteoporosis, anemia,.
Is this true? I’m thinking that if it is true and I have confirmation from experts like yourselves, supplementing with those may give my body what it’s missing so it can start creating it’s own HCL again. I’m also thinking an SCD diet would be the right way to go for me as well so I’m going to give it a try. Thanks again.
